Keyword Research

Keyword research is the process of finding and evaluating search terms people use to create or optimize pages around demand, intent, and competition.

This section covers everything needed to find, judge, and group the queries a page should answer. It includes search demand and intent, keyword difficulty and volume metrics, clustering, long-tail strategy, SERP analysis, and the concepts behind keyword tooling.

What does not belong here: technical SEO, on-page content writing, link building, or analytics tracking. Those are covered in their own sections. This section focuses purely on the discovery and evaluation of keywords before any page is created or optimized.

A newcomer should start with the entry on what keywords are in SEO, then move to keyword analysis for SEO to understand how to evaluate terms. From there, keyword difficulty and long-tail keywords provide the practical metrics and strategy needed to begin.
