Privacy

What is collected

• Standard web server logs: the page requested, a timestamp, the browser's user-agent and a truncated IP address. These are kept briefly to diagnose faults and spot abuse.
• Aggregate page-view counts, so I can see which entries are read and which need work. These cannot be traced back to an individual reader.
• Nothing else. No accounts, no profiles, no cross-site identifiers.

What is not collected

• No advertising or retargeting pixels of any kind.
• No third-party analytics that build a profile of you across sites.
• No email addresses, because there is no newsletter and no signup.
• No cookies for tracking. Nothing on the wiki sets a cookie in order to follow you.
• No sale, sharing or brokering of reader data — there is nothing to sell and it would defeat the point of the site.

Links to other sites

Entries link out to documentation and reference material. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this page cannot speak for. Outbound links are unpaid: nobody has paid to be linked to from here, and no link earns a commission. Most are nofollow; a few practitioner citations are dofollow.

Search

The search box runs entirely in your browser. When you first use it, your browser downloads a list of entry titles and searches that list locally. What you type is never sent to this server or to anyone else.

Your rights and contact

Since the site holds no personal data beyond short-lived server logs, there is in practice nothing to export or delete. If you believe otherwise, or want to know more about how something works, email nora@rankwiki.org and I will answer honestly.
