Betheme SEO
BeTheme SEO is the process of optimising a WordPress site built with the BeTheme/BeBuilder theme so that search engines and SEO plugins can properly read and analyse the page content.
- Applies to
- WordPress sites using BeTheme theme
- Commonly confused with
- General WordPress SEO
Key points
- Use Builder >> SEO to copy BeBuilder content into the WordPress editor for plugins that need it.
- Disable BeTheme’s built-in SEO fields when using an external SEO plugin such as Yoast or Rank Math.
- Enable the “Hide the content” option after copying content to avoid duplicate visible text on the front end.
- Write unique page-level titles and descriptions instead of reusing the same metadata across pages.
- Rank Math reads BeBuilder content natively and does not require the Builder >> SEO workaround.
How it works
BeBuilder stores page content inside blocks that many SEO plugins, such as Yoast, do not read automatically. The theme includes a Builder >> SEO function that copies the builder content into the standard WordPress editor, making it visible to those plugins. Rank Math, however, can read BeBuilder content without this step.
BeTheme also provides basic SEO fields in Theme Options, but these are limited. When a full SEO plugin is active, the theme’s built-in fields should be disabled so they do not interfere with the plugin’s analysis. For a solid wordpress seo setup, the combination of an external plugin and the correct content-export settings is essential.
Why it matters
If BeBuilder content is not exposed to the SEO plugin, the plugin may analyse only an empty page, leading to incorrect title suggestions, missing content analysis, and poor indexability. This can cause duplicate content issues if the hide-content option is not enabled after copying, because the same text appears both in the builder output and the editor output.
Relying solely on BeTheme’s basic SEO fields instead of a dedicated plugin limits your ability to manage metadata, schema, and content analysis at the page level. Unique page-level optimisation is necessary for search engines to understand each page’s topic and relevance, not just site-wide settings.
